Nuffield Technologies named as supplier on Crown Commercial Service’s (CCS) Digital Outcomes and Specialists 7 framework

February 12, 2026

Nuffield Technologies has been named as a supplier on Crown Commercial Service's (CCS) Digital Outcomes and Specialists 7 (DOS7) framework.

This gives public sector organisations across the UK streamlined access to fully compliant and flexible services, including software development, support and user experience capabilities.

Being named as a supplier to Lot 1 – Digital Outcomes – enables central government departments, local authorities, NHS trusts, police forces, educational institutions and other public bodies to procure Nuffield Technologies for outcome-based digital projects covering the full agile lifecycle, from discovery through to live service and retirement.

Why the DOS7 framework matters

The Digital Outcomes and Specialists 7 framework, managed by Crown Commercial Service, is how the public sector buys digital capabilities. It ensures suppliers meet government standards for agile delivery and citizen-focused service design.

Broad capabilities for complex challenges

Under DOS7, Nuffield Technologies offers an extensive range of services spanning software development, operational support, testing and user experience design.

Nuffield Technologies’ software development capabilities include API development, cloud-based services, database development, desktop and mobile application development, front-end web application development, machine learning and systems integration. It also offers application testing and a full suite of user experience capabilities, including accessibility, cross-platform design, interaction design, prototyping and UX strategy.

These services are complemented by customer support, incident management monitoring, and service desk and systems administration services.

Defence sector origins, cross-sector expertise

Founded in 2001 by a team with backgrounds in the UK defence forces and data capture industry, Nuffield Technologies has built a reputation for delivering mobile computing and software solutions in environments where security and reliability are paramount.

The company holds JOSCAR accreditation – the supplier evaluation standard recognised across aerospace, defence and security sectors – and counts Boeing among its long-standing clients. This heritage has shaped an approach centred on delivering under pressure, particularly valuable as organisations face increasing cyber security threats.

While defence remains core to the company's expertise, Nuffield Technologies serves clients across manufacturing, logistics and the wider public sector, with many relationships spanning a decade or more.

Helen Craig, Managing Director of Nuffield Technologies, says, "Our approach has always been to start with the operational challenge. Present us with a problem and we'll deliver the right combination of mobile devices, software and data capture solutions to help teams work more effectively.”

"Being named on DOS7 means public sector organisations can now access that expertise through a procurement route designed for speed and compliance. Whether the requirement is a complete digital service, systems integration work or specialist UX support, we're ready to help."

Sustainability and people

Nuffield Technologies brings strong sustainability credentials to its public sector work. As a Zebra Technologies business partner and Honeywell channel partner, the company supplies rugged devices designed for longevity and repairability, with buy-back and recycling programmes that reduce e-waste. Internally, the team uses Framework laptops chosen specifically for their upgradability and minimal environmental impact.

The company has also aligned with the Mental Health at Work 6 Commitment Standards and has built a STEM-friendly workplace where 50% of the technical team are women.

About the DOS7 framework

Digital Outcomes and Specialists 7 is managed by CCS and provides a compliant procurement route for public sector buyers seeking digital, data and technology services aligned with government standards and agile delivery practices. The framework runs until 2032 as an open framework with application windows every two years.
